What we keep, what we do not, and how to reach a person.

What this site stores

Your cart lives in your own browser, in localStorage, and is never sent anywhere until you check out. Clearing your browser data clears it. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker on any page.

What an order gives away

Checkout is handled by Stripe: card details go to Stripe and never touch this site or its logs. To print and deliver a book we pass your name and shipping address to the print partner, for that purpose and nothing else. Your email is used for the receipt, the tracking number and, for an ebook, the download link.

We do not sell, rent or share customer data. There is no mailing list to be added to without asking.

Returns

A misprint, a binding failure or damage in transit is replaced, with no return shipment needed — send a photograph. Because each book is made individually for your order, a change-of-mind return on a printed book is not possible. Ebooks are not refundable once downloaded. Full detail is on delivery and returns.

The books themselves

Dr. Buck Savage is a pen name and a fictional narrator, and is not a doctor. The guides are field-guide material, not medical, legal, electrical or structural advice. Nothing in them replaces emergency services, a physician, a licensed tradesperson, or the law where you live.

The free reference material on this site is drawn from the published books, whose appendices instruct the reader to copy them freely. Quoting them with attribution to the named volume is welcome.
